Pin-hole box timber toy camera
Part 1

it started with this sketch..the dimension for the film canister was searched from google at first..later it was based on the actual canister when assembling the two chambers..

i have a lot of the these timber strips laying in the my workshop..the dimensions of the strips coincided with the canister height without much resizing..

the box was half assembled..the holes were for the canister extension to fit in..they were 4 holes but you only needed two which one each on the top plate and another one on bottom plate respectively located at the opposite ends..3 holes were covered with a piece of plywood piece and one left for the winder..

another opening was drilled at the front plate for the pin-hole and shutter..the pin-hole was a cap from film case but only the centre part was used..the film framing assembly was a cut-out from a thick paper..

seen here is the fresh film on the left already taped to the winder canister..the counter mechanism was made from spiral binder taped onto the fresh canister..there are 8 perforations per 35mm frame so you need to listen to 8+1 count  for each frame i supposed..

this is the sketch for the shutter..it was made of film box paper and black electrical tape..

shown here is the base plate with the tripod holder..

and the winder..the top plate was the loose piece as the cover for the chambers..once the film canisters and image frame assemblies were dropped into their chambers, this top plate was then tightened with rubber bands..the light seal was made of cloth strips..i could not find the wide rubber bands strip yet..
